Reda Abdul Rahman
Figures around Me
In 2007, I found myself very interested to return to chart human models. In this way, I’ve got into a dialogue with them and temporarily stopped working through memory. It is an attempt to reformulate these models in a more contemporary fashion and sometimes to integrate humanitarian body with fictional characters or with the spot color that dominates the work area. Sometimes, lost paintings and controlled emotions accompany color, in many attempts to recognize its relationship to the painting area.
The exhibition will continue through Sunday, February 17th, 2008.

Biography
Dr. Reda Abdul Rahman was born in August, 1966, in Ismailia, Egypt. His artistic work includes painting, photography, and Sculpture. Since 1984, he has established sixteen special, solo exhibitions in Egypt and abroad. He has also participated in several collective exhibitions inside and outside Egypt. His artistic works appeared in several international biennales, the last one was Gravure in Paris. Reda Abdul Rahman has received numerous awards and certificates of appreciation for his artistic creativity. He designed and built many of the wall paintings and field statues in South Sinai, the Red Sea and Ismailia. Abdul Rahman was the first to establish a printed monthly magazine of Plastic Arts in Egypt, named "Portrait", and thus created a Gallery under the same name. His other contributions to collective action include the foundation of the Old Cairo Centre for the Arts and the establishment of the first International Symposia for Painting in Egypt, 2007.

- Instructor and teacher, Professional Education, Faculty of Education, University of Menoufiya 1990-1995.
- Associate Professor, Department of Teacher Education and Professional and Home Economics, Faculty of Education, University of the Suez Canal, 1996-2000.
- In 2000, he resigned from the University for full-time, technical, cultural, and social work, and completed nearly ten thousand meters of Murals and twelve pursuant dimensional fields' provinces south of the Red Sea, Sinai and Ismailia.
- Technical adviser for beautification, Red Sea Governorate 2000-2005.
- Editor in chief for the art monthly magazine "Portrait".
- Official plastic arts in the Cultural Development Fund at the Ministry of Culture 2007.
